Perfect for living history displays and reenactments, these inert musket cartridges are sure to complete your Civil War-era impression! Ten rounds come bundled in a period-correct Arsenal wrapper, stamped with a label copied from an original ammunition bundle.

By far the most common type of small arms ammunition in the Civil War, the Minié Ball was put to devastating use on the battlefield. The paper cartridges constructed around these Minié balls allowed a well-trained soldier to load and fire three rounds a minute from his rifled musket. Our display cartridges are built to original 1861 specifications: a lubricated .69cal Minié ball, wrapped in sturdy paper. Instead of powder, we've filled the cartridges with a charge of 70 grains of coarse, black sand to simulate the size and weight of a real charge.
